How long does it take to get my book?

It takes me about a week to produce one of these books, start to finish. This includes things like drying time for leather dye, glue drying, pressing the paper and covers flat. For this reason, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of your book. This timeline can be affected by many factors, including amount of customization requested for your book and other orders in line.

I don’t see the style of book I want listed here, can you make X?

I am happy to discuss other sizes, layouts, and binding styles with you when you order a custom book. Due to the individual nature of many book styles, there are many layouts and details that I can’t offer as a standard product. I am always happy to work with you on your perfect custom book, though.

Can you tool my custom design?

Yes! I’d be happy to tool your logo, a favorite picture, or a custom design for you. If you order a fully custom book I will be happy work with with you on making sure that your design will work with the restrictions of tooling leather, as well as deciding which pieces should be gold gilded vs tooled into the leather. Due to the personalized nature of each of these requests, I only offer this with my full custom book option.

Do the books come with lined, grid, or dot paper?

All of my books come with blank paper by default. This is because I use a parchment style paper, with minimal finishing on it, so that it will better take pen ink and feel nice to flip through. Unfortunately, my chosen paper types are not available as lined or grid paper. This means that supplying lined, grid, or dot paper is a manual process for me. If you purchase a full custom book however, lining the paper is one of the customizations that I offer.

Do you do rebinds of other books in leather?

I do offer rebinds of personal books. Because each book is a little bit different, I ask that you email me at Eric@ArcaneBindery.com with some information about the book you would like rebound. The limitations of the rebinding are going to be related to how the book was originally printed, how much of the original binding remains, and how much of the book needs to be rebuilt int he process.

Do your books come in other sizes?

I am happy to work with you to get the exact size of book you need if you order a full custom book. However, due to the costs associated with larger sheets of leather and the time associated with sewing extra pages into each book, it is not a service I offer on non-custom book orders.
